About BrainHub

BrainHub is a counselling service that offers a fully remote therapeutic service. I am now pleased to launch a new arm of the company specialising in working with people who are struggling with Chronic pain.

Chronic Pain affects 23% of adults in the UK and 18% of adults across Europe, (https://cks.nice.org.uk/) This figure increases with age with up to 33% of older adults living with Chronic pain. Whilst physical treatments can improve chronic pain experiences, the way people approach their treatments, and the emotional impact that living with pain can have, can impact upon how the body responds to these treatments. Living in pain can also limit what we can do and this in turn can impact our mental health and wellbeing.

BrainHub Chronic Pain Management Coaching and Therapy aims to support people working through the emotional impacts of suffering from Chronic pain, and support them in finding programs that can help ease the pain and the emotional responses to it. As well as supporting them with working through the challenges of treatments, and often the knowledge that a pain-free life is unachievable, but we can explore working “with the pain” to make life as rewarding and successful as possible, despite it.

A chronic pain diagnosis can be hard to work with but with the right support and mindset, life can still be fulfilling and goals can still be achieved.

About Phil

I am a qualified therapist with a lived experience of chronic pain, having spent the last 13 years living with Chronic Sciatica. Through Pain Management classes and therapy, I have been able to work with the pain to allow me to progress in life, and I now offer Pain Management coaching & therapy to clients who are also experiencing Chronic Pain.

I currently offer an online service where I work with clients on developing their own Pain Management strategies and coping mechanisms, whilst allowing the space to explore the impact living with chronic pain has on their mental health and emotional well-being. Combining the two approaches can be supportive in understanding the effects chronic pain has whilst developing healthy coping strategies.

I can offer either a course of sessions to help support clients through their chronic pain journey, or Single Sessions of coaching or therapy to work on specific issues in the moment. (For more information on Single Session Therapy please see this link.)

Therapy sessions can be used to work through a client’s mental health and emotional well-being that is associated with living with chronic pain. Coaching sessions tend to look more at the practical elements of coping with pain and the mechanisms that can be used from a psychological aspect for managing the pain you experience.

Please contact Phil to have an initial chat and to start your Pain Management Journey.
